Gender roles aren’t only conformed in society, but also in fashion. Every woman is known to have a little black dress in their closet, while their counterpart must own at least one suit and tie ensemble. 70 years ago men would shake by their bootstraps if a woman dared to be seen in anything but a skirt or dress. With the emergence of women’s right’s movements we’ve (thankfully!) come a long way from policing how women are to dress. So long even, that the gender roles have become interchanged.  For some it’s a perplexing idea, and for others a power-move when they see a man in extra tight booty-shorts or the occasional frilled blouse. A new fashion age is among us, and I for one have definitely applied ideas and tips from several male fashion icons to my own personal style .
